Dr Shazwin Binti Mat Taib Senior Lecturer

"Dr. Shazwin Mat Taib currently is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), specializing in Environmental Management, Development Science, and Sustainable Development. With a Ph.D. and Master in Development Science from Hiroshima University, Japan, she has knowledge and experience in addressing global environmental challenges and promoting sustainable practices. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, having held various administrative positions, including Deputy Director of UTM Campus Sustainability from 2017 to 2023. She actively involved in numerous international and national working group and committees focused on AI governance and Responsible AI, technology governance and strategic planning. She has led several international and national research projects in environmental management, sustainable development, refrigeration and air conditioning technologies, showcasing her ability to manage complex projects and achieve tangible outcomes. This work highlights her deep understanding of regional perspectives and challenges in sustainable development. In addition to her technical expertise, Dr Shazwin is a skilled mentor and trainer. With her extensive experience, expertise, and unwavering commitment to sustainable development, ESG, SDGs, and responsible AI governance a passion for empowering others to drive positive change from various level of professionals, researchers and students, to community-based initiatives.
